Medal-worthy cocktails: Let the games begin!

So the Winter Olympics are about to kick off in Sochi, and it appears as if you’re not going to make it in time for opening ceremonies (bummer!). We’d all love to be there, watching the world’s best athletes take to the frozen Russian terrain (wait, would we?). Instead, we’re 5,520 miles away watching it from the warmth of the indoors, sipping our Olympic-themed cocktails…

That’s right, Passion Food Hospitality will kick off the 2014 Winter Olympic games with a vibrant lineup of medal-worthy concoctions—each restaurant inspired by a different color of the interlocking Olympic rings.

Together the restaurants are asking their esteemed panel of judges (all of YOU) to vote for you favorites using the hashtag #TeamPFH via Twitter, Instagram or Facebook. Let the boozing, I mean, the Olympic Games begin! Check ‘em out:

Screen_Shot_2014_01_15_at_6.48.26_PMAcadiana will be passing The Torch to guests to heat things up with this fiery Red preparation made with Ciroc Red Berry Vodka and Cranberry, served in an old-fashioned glass and topped with Lemon & Lime Soda.

Burger, Tap & Shake will be shaking up an icy treat with their boozy SnowFlake “Shake-tail” [Milkshake with booze] – a Black and White mix of house-made Vanilla Ice Cream, Oreo Cookies and Kahlua.

Ceiba goes on Green to start a victory lap with the Walk In the ‘Olympic’ Park – Campo Azul Reposado [infused with Jalapeños], Patron Citronge, Mixed Pepper Purée and House Sour Mix – served on the ice with a salt rim.

DC Coast is skating to the finish with The Bolshoi “Ice Dome” in cool Blue with Absolut Kurant, Original Blue Curacao, Combier Triple Sec, Fresh Lime Juice and White Cranberry Juice – all shaken and strained table-side and served within a chilled martini glass with a Frozen Blueberry Garnish.

District Commons is going for gold with The Gold Medal in Olympic Yellow with Four Roses Yellow Bourbon, House-made Rye Bitters a muddled Lemon wedge and Soda Water – all served in a rocks glass.

Fuego is paying homage to its Mexican roots with La Verde in Green with Camarena Blanco Tequila, Midori, Triple Sec and Orange Juice, shaken and strained, table-side, into a chilled martini glass with a house Maraschino Cherry garnish.

PassionFish may have its eyes on Sochi, but it’s nodding to 007 with the To Russia with Love in Red that is shaken, not stirred with Stoli Raspberry Vodka, Melon Liqueur, Triple Sec, Cranberry Juice and Orange Juice – served in a rocks glass and garnished with an Orange Slice.
